Cougars Earn 2-0 Win Against Pitt-Greensburg

Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA - SEPTEMBER 17, 2015- The Chatham University Women's Soccer team continued their undefeated streak as they triumphed over Pitt-Greensburg earlier today. The Cougars won 2-0, improving their season record to 5-0. This is the best season start for the Cougars in program history. 

The first goal of the game was not scored until ten minutes into the second half by First Year outside midfielder Taylor Yester (White Oak, PA/McKeesport), assisted by Katherine Luteri (Somerset, Pa/Somerset).
 This was Yester's second goal of the season. Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, PA/Serra Catholic) and Kassianna Politis (McMurray, PA/Peters Township) fought hard for the Cougars with 3 and 2 shots respectively. The second goal of the game came less than ten minutes after the first, off of a well set up corner kick by Megan Sieg. Julie Bruening (Madison, OH/Madison) scored, with an assist from Morgan Stamm (Mt.Holly Springs, PA/Boiling Springs), making this her 9th goal of the season. This was First Year Goalkeeper Emmory Tardivo's (Isabella, PA/Brownsville) third shutout of the season with a total of 8 saves. Tardivo is now tied for the Chatham Cougar Season and Career Goalie Shutout Records only 5 games into her first season. 
 

The Cougars will face NAIA Division II Carlow University (1-2) at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa. on September 23rd at 7 pm to defend their undefeated record. Highmark Stadium is home to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Professional Soccer Team.
