Cougars Drop Two Today As They Host Thomas More and Grove City

PITTSBURGH, PA - SEPTEMBER 12, 2015 - The Chatham Women's Volleyball team lost both of its matches today as they hosted the Saints from Thomas More College and the Wolverines from Grove City College. Today marked the first home match of the season for the Cougars.

The Cougars (1-7, 0-2) lost 3-0 (8-25, 12-25, 6-25), to Thomas More (3-3, 2-0) in the first match and lost 3-0 (17-25, 9-25, 6-25) to Grove City (2-6, 1-1) in match two.

On the day, Cougar senior Heathir McIntyre (Ashburn, VA/Broad Run High School) led Chatham on offensive with a combined 9 kills, while first-year Maggie Fleiner (McKees Rocks, PA / Montour High School), added 8. Solid play continued this afternoon from several of the first-year players from Chatham. First-year defensive specialist/setter Abbey Little (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock), had a combined 18 digs on the day, and fellow first-year teammate Emily Brozenick (Pittsburgh, PA / Carlynton), led the team with a combined 11 assists.

Chatham will look to get back on the winning side of things this Wednesday, September 15th, where they play host to the Redhawks from La Roche College at 4:00 p.m.
