Schmidt's Double-Double Not Enough Against Bethany

Box Score Pittsburgh, PA - (2/7/15) - The Chatham Women's Basketball team hosted the Bethany Bison today in the AFC. Despite ten points and ten rebounds from senior forward Emily Schmidt (Eighty Four, PA) and 22 points from first year guard Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, PA), the Cougars would fall 65-83.

Chatham came out hot in the first half, connecting on five of their first six shots and sinking their first four free throws of the game. Bethany, however, would use an 8-0 run and then an 18-4 run to take a 14 point lead into halftime. The Bison would shoot 52% from the field in the first half.

The Cougars would battle back in the second half to cut the Bison lead to as few as eight points. Sophomore guard Nikki Ingel (Irwin, PA) would give the Cougars a second half boost by scoring five of her 14 points to keep Chatham close. Ingel would also add four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in the game.

Bethany would pull away in the final twelve minutes, despite the valiant efforts of Chatham, who only dressed seven players on the day.

The Cougars will take the court again on Wednesday, February 11th at Grove City College.
