Cougars Handle Geneva on Senior Day

Box Score Pittsburgh, PA - (2/14/15) - On Senior Day and a game that commemorated the 145th anniversay of Chatham University, the Cougar basketball team fought to a victory against PAC conference rival Geneva College 78-66.

The Cougars took a five-point lead into half, and led the Golden Tornadoes through the entire second half. The win gives Chatham a 5-7 record at home, with a mark of 6-17 overall this season.
 
Four Cougars finished with double-digit points against Geneva, sophomore guard Nikki Ingel (Irwin, Pa) led all scorers with 19 points. Junior guard Rachel McClain (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) finished the day with 17 points. First year guard Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa.) helped the team by earning 12 points, while senior forward Emily Schmidt (Eighty-Four, Pa) recorded 10.
 
Sophomore forward Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa) earned a team high 12 rebounds, as well as two assists and one steal. Schmidt recorded five rebounds as well as one block. McClain also added four assists and two steals.
 
The Cougars were able to seal the victory by nailing 21 of their 25 second half free throws.
 
Chatham will continue PAC conference play when they visit Thomas Moore College on Wednesday, February 18th.

Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the President's Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers eight Division III women's sports and six men's sports. Women's sports at Chatham include basketball, cross country, ice hockey, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, track & field, and volleyball. Chatham will add six new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field, and volleyball.
