History Is Made! Chatham Beats W&J 71-64

Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa – DECEMBER 5, 2015 -- The Chatham University Men's Basketball team won their first game in program history today defeating the Washington and Jefferson College Presidents by a score of 71-64. This win marks the first ever win in school history and for Head Coach Andrew GarciaChatham is now 1-6, 1-1 PAC. 

Although Washington and Jefferson led the game for almost 29 minutes, the Cougars were able to pull off a win in the end. Chatham was down 33-24 at halftime, but went on to outscore the Presidents 47-31 in the second half. The Cougars played aggressively, forcing 20 President turnovers that led to 19 points.    

Four Cougars scored double digits tonight to help lead Chatham to victory. Sophomore Guard Logan Hunter (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield Area HS) had the game high 13 points. First Year Guard Alex Schoppen (Gibsonia, Pa. / Pittsburgh Central Catholic HS) scored 12 points with 7 rebounds. First Year Guard Isaiah Brown (Scott, Ark. / North Pulaski HS) finished with 11 points and 4 assists. First Year Guard Nasir Alexander (Kissimmee, Fla. / Osceola HS) added 10 points. First Year Guard Anthony Bomar (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park HS) was a big help for the Cougars as well with 7 rebounds and 6 assists.

Chatham is back on the court Saturday, December 12th when the team travels to Latrobe, Pa. to take on the Saint Vincent Bearcats at 6 pm. For fans wanting to tune in, live stats and audio will be available for this game. The links can be found on the Schedules page on our website.
