Cougars Win First PAC Game, Beat Titans 82-64

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – DECEMBER 2, 2015 -- The Chatham University Women's Basketball team traveled to New Wilmington, Pa. tonight to take on the Westminster College Titans in their first Presidents' Athletic Conference game of the season. The Cougars took the lead early on, finishing the first half 46-38. Their aggressive play continued as they lead the Titans in scoring throughout the second half with a final score of 82-64.

This win improves the Cougars to now 4-1, 1-0 PAC on the year, and drops Westminster to 0-5, 0-1 PAC. Sophomore Guard Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic HS) led the Cougars this evening with a game high 20 points. Sieg also finished the game with an impressive 6 steals, 3 assists and 3 rebounds.

First Year Guard Katelyn Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic HS) also played strong against the Titans earning 11 points, 5 assists, 2 steals and 6 rebounds. Junior Guard Nikki Ingel (Irwin, Pa./ Norwin HS) and Junior Forward Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa./ Jefferson HS) scored double digits as well tonight with 11 points each.

First Year Forward Maggie Soeder (Shaler, Pa./ Shaler HS) and First Year Point Guard Ashley McClain (Hollidaysburg, Pa./ Hollidaysburg Area Senior HS) were a big help for the Cougars in the paint with 9 and 5 rebounds respectively.

The Cougars played aggressively, scoring 33 points off of the 22 Titan turnovers and holding the Titans to shoot only 9% from beyond the arc.

This 4-1 start for Head Coach Sandy Rectenwald and her Cougars is their best start in the last four seasons. The Chatham University Women's Basketball team will return to action on Saturday, December 5th, when they travel to Washington, Pa. to take on the Washington and Jefferson College Presidents.
