Chatham Loses To Saint Vincent, 82-63

Box Score LATROBE, Pa – DECEMBER 12, 2015 -- The Chatham University Men's Basketball team traveled to Latrobe, Pa. to take on the Saint Vincent Bearcats (5-2, 3-0 PAC) this evening. The Cougars were defeated by the Bearcats 82-63. Chatham is now 1-7, 1-2 PAC.

The Cougars fought hard in the game tonight against Saint Vincent. Down 22-7 late in the first half, Chatham went on a 12-2 run, cutting the Bearcat lead to just 5 points. The Cougars were unable to keep up the momentum though and by halftime, the score was 44-32. On the defensive end, Chatham forced 18 turnovers and in the second half the Cougars held the Bearcats to shoot only 14% from beyond the arc.

Four Cougars scored double digits tonight. First Year Guard Anthony Bomar (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park HS) finished the game with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Bomar went 9-9 from the free throw line. First Year Guard Alex Schoppen (Gibsonia, Pa. / Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School) had 10 points and 4 rebounds against the Bearcats. This is the fifth game of the season that Schoppen has scored double digits. First Year Guard Nasir Alexander (Kissimmee, Fla. / Osceola High School) and First Year Guard Isaiah Brown (Scott, Ark. / North Pulaski High School) added 11 and 10 points respectively.

Chatham is back on the court Saturday, December 19th when the team travels to Frederick, Md. to compete in the Rotary Holiday Tournament. The first game of the tournament is against Hood College at 6 pm.
