Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa.- NOVEMBER, 17, 2015 -- Chatham University made history tonight as the institution's first ever Men's Basketball contest was held in the Athletic and Fitness Center. The Cougars fell to the Penn State New Kensington Lions, 70-64 in a hard fought battle.
The Chatham community came out showing strong support for this historic milestone. First Year Head Coach Andrew Garcia wants to thank all the fans for coming to the game and showing their Cougar Pride.
The Cougars were led by First Year Nasir Alexander (Kissimmee, Fla. / Osceola High School) with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 1 steal. First Year Alex Schoppen (Gibsonia, Pa. / Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School) was an important player tonight as well getting 14 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal. Sophomore Logan Hunter (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield Area High School) had 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 1 assist.
For the game, the Cougars shot 34.4 percent (21-of-61) from the floor, as well as 60.9 percent (14-of-23) from the free throw line. Chatham led 31-24 at the end of the first half but was unable to maintain that lead throughout the second half. Coach Garcia said "I'm proud of my team. They played as hard as they could, they gave it their all. I couldn't have asked for anything more."

The Men's Basketball team will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Hamburg, N.Y. to play in the Hawks Against Hunger Tournament at Hilbert College. They start the tournament off with a game against Hilbert (2-0) at 8 pm on Friday.
