Chatham Battles Celtics

Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA - OCTOBER 6, 2015 - The Chatham University Women's Volleyball team welcomed city rival Carlow University to the Athletic and Fitness Center for a non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on Tuesday night. The Cougars battled the Celtics for three sets, but came out on the wrong end of a 3-0 final score (25-16, 25-20, 25-20).

Chatham (1-18, 0-9) were led on offense tonight once again by First Year Right Side Hitter Katelyn Gonos (Kent, OH/Theodore Roosevelt) with 9 kills and 1 service ace for the match. First Year Setter Emily Brozenick (Pittsburgh, PA/Carlynton) was fantastic on the night totaling 19 assists for the match. On the defensive side of the net, First Year Defensive Specialist Abbey Little (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) dug out 19 of the Celtics attacks tonight. Sophomore Iman Morgan (Sharon, PA/Sharon) added 3 outstanding solo blocks to help spark the Cougars at crucial times throughout the match.

Chatham is back home at the Athletic and Fitness Center on Thursday, when it hosts a PAC tri-match. The Cougars will face Thomas More at 4:00 p.m., before squaring off with Waynesburg at 8:00 p.m. The two visiting schools will meet in the 6:00 p.m. match.
