Cougars Fall 4-0 to Washington and Jefferson

Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA - OCTOBER 3, 2015 - The Chatham University Women's Soccer team suffered their second loss of the season today as they faced the Presidents of Washington and Jefferson College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match.

The Cougars (6-2, 0-1) lost their PAC opener today to the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson (7-1-1, 1-0) by a score of 4-0. Chatham fell down early in the game when Presidents' Sophomore Forward Jordan Toohey (Mount Pleasant, PA/Mount Pleasant) scored her 14th goal of the season just 4 minutes into the match. The Presidents would outshoot the Cougars 9 to 3 in the first 90 minutes of the game, however the halftime score would remain 1-0.

In the second half, Chatham would battle the Presidents for the first 30 minutes before a goal was scored by Presidents' Sophomore Midfielder Tatiana Ruzzini (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) in the 75th minute. Washington and Jefferson would then add on 2 more goals in the next 9 minutes to extend the lead, and put the game out of reach. The third goal was scored by Senior Midfielder Hayley Skovira (Scottdale, PA/Southmoreland), and the fourth goal came once again from Jordan Toohey.

Chatham will return to play on Wednesday, October 7, as they host the Bison from Bethany College at 4:00 p.m. in a PAC contest.
