Cougars Close Season, Suffer 1-3 Loss to Bobcats

Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA - OCTOBER 28TH, 2015 - The Chatham University Women's Volleyball team hosted the Bobcats from the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg tonight in their final match of the season. The Cougars lost 1-3 in a hard fought match, winning the the 2nd set 25-23.

The Cougars Women's Volleyball team closed out the season at the Athletic and Fitness Center tonight, losing 1-3 in their final match against the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg Bobcats. First Year Katelyn Gonos (Kent, OH/Theodore Roosevelt High School) led the Cougars with 10 Kills, while Sophomore Iman Morgan (Sharon, PA/Sharon High School) kept up her solid defensive play and finished the game with 2 Blocks.

First Year Maggie Fleiner (McKees Rocks, PA/Montour High School) had a good all-around game, capping an exciting first season with 9 Kills, 1 Ace, 2 Blocks, and 15 Digs. The Cougars finished with 73 Digs, 24 coming from First Year Abbey Little (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock Area High School), and 12 coming from First Year Emily Brozenick (Pittsburgh, PA/Carlynton Jr.-Sr. High School).

The Cougars will miss the skill and perseverance of Senior Heathir McIntyre (Ashburn, VA/Broad Run High School). McIntyre gave Chatham great offensive intensity and a knack for leadership.

Head Coach Marc Eberle's Cougars finish the season with a 1-30 record and have an optimistic outlook on the forthcoming season. Chatham found a solid core group with the addition of their First Year players and aim to progress as a team in the off-season.
