Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA - OCTOBER 26, 2015 - The Cougars Women's Volleyball team faced off against Franciscan University tonight, fighting hard down to the wire, but faltering 0-3 to the Lady Barons. Senior Heathir McIntyre (Ashburn, VA/Broad Run High School) was honored by everyone in attendance tonight, celebrating her devotion to the Cougars and her academic performance. McIntyre played with a lot of intensity, attacking the net at every opportunity.
The Cougars Women's Volleyball team lost 0-3 to the Franciscan University tonight as they hosted the Lady Barons at the Athletic and Fitness Center on campus. The Cougars played quite well in the first and third sets, playing down to the final point. The Cougars lost each set, 18-25, 8-25, and 23-25. Senior Heathir McIntyre played aggressively, aiming to make a lasting impression in one of her last games as a Cougars player. McIntyre finished the game with 7 Kills, 2 Aces, 1 Block, and 6 Digs. Sophomore Iman Morgan (Sharon, PA/Sharon High School) aided McIntyre's performance, ending the game with 3 Kills, 1 Ace, and 2 Blocks.
The Cougars played hard in the 3rd set, applying pressure offensively and attacking the net with tenacity. Chatham started a run late in the set that brought them within a point of the Lady Barons, but faltered later on. The Cougars offensive intensity allowed for great team ball and solid communication.
The Cougars compete in their final game of the 2015-2016 season against the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg this Wednesday (October 28th).
