Cougars Shut Out Thiel 3-0, Improve to 8-4

Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA - OCTOBER 17, 2015 - The Cougars Women's Soccer team beat PAC opponent, Thiel College, today, 3-0 at Varsity Field. Head Coach Betsy Warren's Cougars improve to 8-4 on the season with the win against Thiel.

The Chatham Women's Soccer team improved their season record to 8-4 today with a win against Thiel College. Sophomore Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, PA/Serra Catholic High School) started the Cougars off with her 9th Goal of the season, scoring early in the game. Sieg finished with 1 Goal and 2 Assists on the day, aiding the Cougars offensively with some solid passing and aggressive play. First Year players Kassianna Politis (McMurray, PA/Peters Township High School) and Anne Radzanowski (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley High School) scored the final two goals of the game for the Cougars, each player netting their 6th Goal of the year.

Megan Sieg and Kassianna Politis sent a barrage of shots into Thiel territory, as the Cougars outshot them 31-9. Thiel had no answer for the Cougars today. Chatham played aggressively and pressured Thiel on both sides of the field. Goalkeeper Emory Tardivo (Isabella, PA/Brownsville Area High School) protected the Cougars defensively, facing 5 Shots on Goal and stopping all of them.

The Cougars Women's Soccer team enters the final four games of the season, facing off against Westminster College this Wednesday at Varsity Field (October 21st).
