Cougars Fall to Geneva and W&J, 0-3

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PITTSBURGH, PA - OCTOBER 15, 2015 - The Cougars Women's Volleyball team dropped two matches against Geneva College and Washington and Jefferson College tonight, losing both games 0-3. First Year Maggie Fleiner (McKees Rocks, PA/Montour High School) had a strong performance, finishing with 7 kills, 18 digs, and 2 service aces through two games.

The Cougars fell to the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes and the Washington and Jefferson College Presidents in a PAC conference double-header. The Cougars played against Geneva in the first match, losing all three sets, 13-25, 10-25, 11-25. Chatham struggled offensively against the Golden Tornadoes, finishing the match with only 6 kills. The Cougars made improvements defensively and it showed. They finished the game with 31 digs, 8 of which belong to First Year Abbey Little (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock Area High School).

The second match of the night against the Washington and Jefferson Presidents featured a better overall game from the Cougars. Head Coach Marc Eberle's team finished the night with 19 kills, 3 aces, and 38 igs. Senior Heathir McIntyre (Ashburn, VA/Broad Run High School) led the Cougars offensively with 8 kills, while Maggie Fleiner added 12 digs defensively. The Cougars played well as a team, aided by First Year Emily Brozenick's (Pittsburgh, PA/Carlynton Jr.-Sr. High School) 18 assist-8 dig performance.

The Cougars are down to only five games left this season. They compete against The University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg Bobcats this upcoming Monday (October 19th).
