Chatham Power Play nearly brings back Cougars against SUNY Cortland

Box Score Pittsburgh, PA. – (1/30/2015) – The Chatham University hockey played host to SUNY Cortland this evening, losing 4-2. The Cougars lost despite scoring on both of the team's power play opportunities. This was the team's first home game after an eight game road trip. Chatham won three straight games during that eight game stretch.
 
After a scoreless first period for Chatham, sophomore forward Erika Martin (Fairbanks, AK) scored the Cougars first goal (12:59), during the first of two power play opportunities for Chatham in the game. Junior forwards Erika Bronk (Fairport, NY) and Katrina Hawkins (Powell River, BC) assisted.
 
Sophomore forward Jenny Jones (Kernersville, NC) followed Martin at (18:12) getting the Cougars to within one goal of tying the Red Dragons, when she scored on the second power play of the night for Chatham. Bronk assisted Jones giving her 10 assists on the season. Jones also went 8-12 on face-offs on the day. Chatham went 21-31 as a team on face-offs against SUNY Cortland.
 
Senior goal tender Megan Buchanan (Stittsville, ON) played hard tonight, giving up 4 Red Dragon goals on 28 attempts.
