Box Score Canton, NY. – (1/09/2015) – The Chatham University hockey team wins their second in a row by beating SUNY Canton today 3-1. The win evens the Cougars record at 6-6.
After a scoreless first period, first year forward
Marissa Janiga (East Aurora, NY) lit the lamp at (19:30). Junior forward
Katrina Hawkins, and first year defender Lyndsey Galloway assisted Janiga. SUNY would even the score before the period ended at 1-1.
Sophomore forward
McKenzie Haskins (Anchorage, AK) gave Chatham the lead once again when she rifled a shot into the net at (6:11) of the third period. Junior forward
Erika Bronk (Fairport, NY) scored the winning goal while Chatham was on the power play at (18:55). Senior defender
Brittany Yoisten assisted both goals, giving her six on the season.
Senior goaltender
Megan Buchanan (Stittsville, Ont.) gave up one goal on 18 shots. The Cougars took 10 shots on 4 Power Play opportunities, with one goal.
Chatham will be back in action tomorrow when they play SUNY Canton again January 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
