Box Score CORTLAND, NY – The Chatham University Ice Hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision to SUNY Cortland on Saturday in the Cougars' final game of the regular season. Chatham finishes with a 4-19-2 overall record and 3-13 in the ECAC-West. Cortland moves to 4-19-2 overall and 3-12-1 in the conference.
Much like Friday's game, Cortland held a 2-0 lead late in the third period. Chatham pulled goaltender
Megan Buchanan with just over three minutes remaining, and
Brianna Rice scored seconds later to bring Chatham within one.
Jenny Jones and
Kaitlyn Perrins recorded assists on the goal. The Cougars again brought on the extra attacker in the final minute of play, but could not even the score.
Jones led the Cougars with five shots, while
Morgan Becer, Perrins, and
Brittany Yoisten each tallied three. Buchanan made 31 saves in net.
Makenzie Wright and Kaitlyn Ryan each scored power play goals for Cortland.
