Box Score Pittsburgh, Pa. – (11/23/2014) – For their second game in two days, the Chatham University ice hockey team faced conference rival Buffalo State this afternoon, losing to the Bengals 3-1. Today's loss leaves the Cougars record at 2-5 on the season.
After a scoreless first period, first year forward
Marissa Janiga (East Aurora, NY) scored the first goal of the contest, striking early in the second period against the Bengals (00:14). She was assisted by junior forward
Erika Bronk (Fairport, NY), who led all Cougars with 6 shots on goal, followed by sophomore forward
Erika Martin (Fairbanks, AK) who earned 5.
The Cougars outshot the Bengals 33-27 on the day. Senior goaltender
Megan Buchanan (Stittsville, Ont.) faced 27 shots during the game, turning away 24 in a losing effort.
Chatham will be back in action when they host William Smith College in ECAC-W Conference play at the McKnight Hockey Center on Saturday December 6, 2014 at 8:00 p.m.
