Cougars beat Franciscan on the road

Box Score Franciscan University– (11/19/2014) – The Chatham University basketball team traveled to Franciscan University on Wednesday to face the Barons in a non-conference game. The Cougars won the contest 58-53, giving them a 2-1 record on the season.
 
First year guard Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, Pa.) lead the Cougar charge with 22 points and two rebounds, shooting 8-10 from the field on the day. Chatham also got a boost from sophomore guard Jessica Manfredi (Hollidaysburg, PA), who finished with 11 points and four rebounds.
 
Junior guard Rachel McClain (Jefferson Hills, Pa.) recorded 11 total points with 3 rebounds, while sophomore forward Jesse Hinkle (Jefferson Hills, Pa.) chipped in with seven points.
 
The Cougars battled to keep their lead 24-17 after the first half of play. The Chatham bench provided 7 points, helping to propel the Cougars to victory. Chatham also recorded 21 points off Franciscan turnovers, and 22 points in the paint.
 
Chatham will be back in action when they visit Marietta University on Saturday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m.

Women's sports at Chatham include basketball, cross country, ice hockey, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, track & field, and volleyball. Chatham will add six new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field, and volleyball.
