Box Score Pittsburgh, Pa. – (11/1/2014) – The Chatham University hockey team opened their regular season at the McKnight Hockey Center against SUNY Canton today. The Cougars blanked the Kangaroos 3-0.
Chatham and Canton skated to a scoreless end of the first period, but the Cougars poured on the offense in the second. Sophomore forward
McKenzie Haskins (Anchorage, AK.) scored the first goal of the season (05:40) assisted by sophomore forward
Jenny Jones (Kemersville, NC.).
Junior forward
Erika Bronk (Fairport, NY.) would score next (06:19), followed by a power play goal by sophomore forward
Erika Martin (13:35). Both Cougar goals were assisted by sophomore defender
Kaitlyn Perrins (Calgary, Alberta).
Senior goaltender
Megan Buchanan (Stittsville, Ont.) faced 19 shots by the Kangaroos, earning the shutout. Jones went 10 for 17 on face-offs won, while Martin went 9 for 16.
Chatham will play SUNY Canton again Sunday November 2, 2014 at McKnight Hockey Center at 1:00 p.m.
