Box Score Pittsburgh, PA – The Chatham University women's soccer team hosted the 10th ranked Thomas More College Saints on Saturday afternoon at Varsity Field. The Cougars eventually fell by a count of 0-7, but would hold their opponent scoreless for the final 30 minutes of the game.
From the opening kick, sophomore midfielder
Skylar Benjamin blasted a shot on goal from just over midfield. This was the first shot on goal given up by Thomas More during PAC play. The Cougars would earn three shots on goal for the entire game, two coming from Benjamin.
First year forward
Megan Sieg would also put some pressure on the Saints when she put a shot on goal in the 82nd minute. Chatham would force four corner kicks on the day as well.
Senior goalkeeper
Liz Sawyer made nine saves on the day, contributing to her ranking of 17th in the nation in total saves coming into the game.
The Cougars will be back in action again on Wednesday, October 15th when Washington & Jefferson comes to town at 4 PM.
