Chatham Ice Hockey Drops 4-1 Decision to SUNY Canton

Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA – Madison Alphin scored her first collegiate goal, but the Chatham University Ice Hockey team fell to visiting SUNY Canton 4-1 on Saturday. Canton (2-2-2) scored three times in the third period, which included an empty net goal, leading to the victory.

Alphin got Chatham (2-2-2) on the board at the 9:48 mark of the second period on a power play goal. Erika Bronk recorded her second assist of the season on the play.

Katrina Hawkins and Erika Martin led the Cougars with six shots apiece, while Casey Morfeld had five. Chatham out-shot Canton 38-22 for the game. Megan Buchanan allowed three goals while making 18 saves in net.

Chatham will return to action next weekend, November 23 and 24, when they host ECAC-West foe Oswego State at the Roy McKnight Hockey Center.
