Box Score ELMIRA, NY- Nationally ranked Elmira College outshot Chatham University 51-5 in ECAC West Conference play to secure a 6-1 victory on Friday night at the Murray Athletic Center. The Soaring Eagles maintain their first place position with a 14-1-1 (9-0-0 ECAC West) record, while the Cougars fall to 1-10-0 (0-7-0 ECAC West) on the season.
For the Cougar defense, goaltender
Megan Buchanan (So., Ottawa, ONT/Rideau St. Lawrence) started the game recording 34 saves on the night, while
Kaitlynn Smith (Jr., Hamden, CT/Hamden) finished the game with 11 saves in net.
For the Cougar offense,
Casey Morfeld (Jr., Union City, PA/San Jose Jr. Sharks) scored the lone goal at the 17:34 mark in the third period with an assist from
Brittany Yoisten (So., Coldwater Ontario/Aurora Panthers) .

The Cougars face off against the Soaring Eagles in a rematch Saturday, January 12 at the Murray Athletic Center. Game time is set for 3:00 pm.
