GREENSBURG, PA – Despite winning the first two sets of tonight's match, the Chatham University volleyball team fell to host Pitt-Greensburg 3-2. UPG (1-14) won by scores of 21-25, 24-26, 25-15, 25-12, 15-12.
For Chatham (0-7),
Mareija Bibbs (Jr., Chesapeake, VA/Peninsula Catholic) and
Molly Farmer (Jr., Oakmont, PA/CCAC) led the offense with 14 kills apiece. Bibbs added one ace and one block, while Farmer also recorded a block.
Julianne Speeney (Sr., Connellsville, PA/Geibel Catholic) led the Cougars with 17 digs and 28 assists.
Angelina Liberi (Jr., Mt. Lebanon, PA/Mt. Lebanon) had a solid all-around match with 11 kills, 11 digs, and one ace.
“We played well tonight, but just couldn't finish it out,” said Head Coach
Marc Eberle. “We are improving each week; we just need to figure out ways to win.”
Chatham will return to action on Thursday, September 20 when they host La Roche College (4:30pm) and Presidents' Athletic Conference foe Westminster College (7:00pm).
