STUEBENVILLE, OH- The Chatham University Volleyball team (0-18, 0-11 PAC) lost 3-1 to Franciscan University on Saturday afternoon. Chatham started out strong, winning the first match 25-23. The Cougars lost the next three sets by convincing scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-20.

“We played well enough to be in each set, but we didn't play hard enough to win,” said Head Coach Marc Eberle. “We need to figure out a way to battle each and every set consistently. We can't take any plays off. When we decide to play hard every point, we will be rewarded. That did not happen today.”

For the Cougars, Mareija Bibbs (Jr., Chesapeake, VA/Peninsula Catholic) recorded 14 kills, one solo block, and two block assists. Molly Farmer (Jr., Oakmont, PA/CCAC) had ten kills, two solo blocks and two block assists. Julianne Speeney (Sr., Connellsville, PA/Geibel Catholic) contributed five aces and 14 digs. Angelina Liberi (Jr., Mt. Lebanon, PA/Mt. Lebanon) added 11 digs. Erin Smith (So., Allison Park, PA/Shaler) finished with ten digs.

The Cougars are on the road again Tuesday, October 9 against Geneva College. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm.
