Thomas More Defeats Chatham Soccer 8-0

CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY- The Chatham University Soccer team (2-7, 0-3 PAC) lost 8-0 to Thomas More College (11-1, 3-0 PAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Saints outshot the Cougars 39-1 to secure the win.

“We were patient and worked well as a defensive unit today,” said Head Coach Betsy Warren. “I was proud of keeping them scoreless for the first 25 minutes of the game.”

“Nobody stopped working today, no matter what the score was,” added Junior Defender Savannah Moon (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour) . “We were communicating well and seemed to be anticipating the play better as a group.”

For the Cougars, Sarah Ellis (So., Lawrence, PA/Canon McMillan) took Chatham's one shot on goal. Goal Keeper Liz Sawyer (So., Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) added 14 saves.

Next up, the Cougars are on the road again Wednesday, October 10 to take on Washington & Jefferson College. Kick off will be at 5:00 pm.
