Thiel Outlasts Chatham 3-0

PITTSBURGH, PA – Chatham University hung with the #3 team in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), Thiel College, but fell in straight sets 25-20, 25-14, 25-19 in volleyball action on Tuesday. Chatham falls to 0-28 (0-18 PAC) on the year, while the Tomcats improve to 19-7 overall (13-3 PAC).

Mareija Bibbs (Jr., Chesapeake, VA/Peninsula Catholic) led the Cougars offense with seven kills, while Angelina Liberi (Sr., Mt. Lebanon, PA/Mt. Lebanon) added six. As a squad, Chatham nailed 16 kills with just two errors.

Senior setter Julianne Speeney (Connellsville, PA/Geibel Catholic) recorded 13 assists, two service aces, and six digs. Liberi and Molly Farmer (Jr., Oakmont, PA/CCAC) had eight digs, while Bibbs and Erin Smith (So., Allison Park, PA/Shaler) each recorded two solo blocks.

Chatham will wrap up the 2012 season next Tuesday, October 30, when they host cross-town rival Carlow University at 7:00pm.
