Chatham Volleyball Falls to Penn State-Altoona

PITTSBURGH, PA – Despite 18 kills from Mareija Bibbs (Jr., Chesapeake, VA/Peninsula Catholic, the Chatham University volleyball team fell 3-1 to visiting Penn State-Altoona on Monday. The Lady Lions won by scores of 25-18, 28-26, 24-26, 25-11. Chatham falls to 0-24 on the season, while PSU-A improves to 8-15.

Bibbs had an outstanding all-around match, recording two service aces, three blocks, and nine digs. Offensively, she hit .567 for the match. Angelina Liberi (Jr., Mt. Lebanon, PA/Mt. Lebanon) added 12 kills and 12 digs, while Ally Ratliff (Sr., Johnstown, PA/Ferndale Area) nailed 11 kills and two service aces.

Julianne Speeney (Sr. Connellsville, PA/Geibel Catholic) recorded 30 assists and nine digs. Erin Smith (So., Allison Park, PA/Shaler) had seven assists to go along with 12 digs.

Chatham returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference action tomorrow, October 16, when they travel to Washington & Jefferson College. Game time is set for 7:00pm.
