Chatham Volleyball Drops Two

GROVE CITY, PA- The Chatham Volleyball team (0-23, 0-14 PAC) lost 3-0 to both Grove City College (12-12, 6-7 PAC) and Franciscan University (10-13) in the tri-match hosted by Grove City on Saturday afternoon.

“We didn't play well in any aspect of the game,” said Head Coach Marc Eberle. “As a unit we need to get back to the basics. We have matches on both Monday and Tuesday, which will help us quickly move on from this weekend and look to the future.”

In the match against Grove City, the Cougars lost by scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-16. For the Cougars, Ally Ratliff (Sr., Johnstown, PA/Ferndale Area) recorded six kills while Mareija Bibbs (Jr., Chesapeake, VA/Peninsula Catholic) and Angelina Liberi (Jr., Mt. Lebanon, PA/Mt. Lebanon) added five kills. Liberi also contributed eight digs and Ratliff added six digs. Julianne Speeney (Sr., Connellsville, PA/Geibel Catholic) ended with seven digs and 19 assists. Erin Smith (So., Allison Park, PA/Shaler) finished with six digs.

In the match against Franciscan, the Cougars fell by scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-11. Bibbs recorded seven kills and six digs while Molly Farmer (Jr., Oakmont, PA/CCAC) added six kills. Speeney contributed 10 digs and 16 assists. Liberi ended with eight digs and Smith finished the match with 6 digs.

The Cougars return home Monday, October 15 against Penn State Altoona. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm.
