PITTSBURGH, PA- The Chatham University Soccer team (2-9, 0-5 PAC) lost 3-0 to Thiel College (5-7-1, 2-3 PAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Tomcats outshot the Cougars 22-5 to secure the win.
“We didn't have our best performance today,” said Head Coach
Betsy Warren. “It wasn't for a lack of effort or competitiveness; we just didn't seem to click. I had high expectations for this game based on how we had been stepping up in the second half of our last two games and was disappointed in the way it ended. I know the players aren't satisfied with the result and hope this game will be another step for us continuing to grow as a young program.”
For the Cougars,
Rebecca Pell (So., Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) ,
Sarah Ellis (So., Lawrence, PA/Canon McMillan) , and
Claire Geraghty (Jr., Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic) all recorded one shot on goal.
Ashley Lamb (Jr., Sterling, VA/Potomac Falls) and
Sarah Jugovic (Fy., Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) both attempted one shot. Goal Keeper
Liz Sawyer (So., Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) contributed 12 saves to the game.
Next up, The Cougars are on the road Tuesday, October 16 against Grove City College. Kickoff is set for 4:00 pm.
