WASHINGTON, PA – Washington & Jefferson College out-shot Chatham University 47-0 en route to a 6-0 victory on Wednesday. Chatham falls to 2-8 (0-4 PAC) on the season, while the Presidents improve their record to 7-5-1 (3-0-1).

W&J got on the board in the eighth minute, when Kelsey Kraus scored. Kraus again scored in the 29th minute to put the Presidents up 2-0. W&J went into intermission with that 2-0 lead, and scored four more goals in the second half to secure the 6-0 shutout.

For Chatham, goal keeper Liz Sawyer (So., Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) recorded 19 saves.

“This was a good test for us today,” said Head Coach Betsy Warren. “It was an important motivator for us as a growing program. We are getting our young leaders the invaluable experience of playing time and learning to deal with adversity.”
