Chatham University and Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Leonard Trevino, announced the hiring of Bryan Pflanz as the first head coach for the men's wrestling team.
"We are excited to add wrestling to our lineup of sports," Trevino said. "We are in a great location and believe strongly that it will add and support the University. Coach Pflanz is the right person to guide and build our program."
Pflanz joins the Cougars after being an assistant coach at Elizabethtown since 2019. While at Elizabethtown, Pflanz has helped develop the Blue Jays into a top 25 ranked team in Division III.
"I am truly honored to be named the inaugural Head Men's Wrestling Coach at Chatham University," Pflanz said. "I would like to thank Leonard Trevino and the entire athletic department for believing in my vision and trusting me with the opportunity to build this program. Chatham offers a tremendous academic environment and student experience, and it is located in one of the premier wrestling regions in the country. I'm excited to get to work and recruit prospective student-athletes who are eager to help build the foundation of Chatham Men's Wrestling and make history here. Go Cougars!"
Pflanz and the Cougars will begin competing in the Winter of 2026.
