PHILADELPHIA, PA - As the first day of the CSA Team Championship came to a close, the Chatham squash team was able to find some success.
On the women's (6-9) side of things, they defeated #8 William Smith College 5-4 early this morning. The Cougars wins came from
Clara Braga,
Vasundhra Vasanthan,
Sofia Pinto Combita, Basmala Sayed Ahmed, and TaNiya Nored. Their win would allow them to advance to take on the #1 St. Lawrence Univeristy in the quarterfinals. Even with all of their tough battling, the Cougars would still come up short falling 7-2. The Cougars two wins would come from Pinto Combita and Sayed Ahmed.
As for the men (6-9), they would fall in their only match of the day to #7 St. Lawrence Univeristy 8-1. The Cougars only win would come from
Muhammad Hassaan Raza.
