Swimming and Diving Competes at IUP Trimeet

NDIANA, Pa. - November 5, 2022 - Chatham University Swimming and Diving traveled to Indiana University of Pennsylvania this morning for a trimeet with the Crimson Hawks and PAC rival Washington and Jefferson. The Cougar women would defeat W&J for PAC points but lose to Division II IUP, and the Cougar men would fall to both teams.

The Women's team had two successful relay runs. The team of Maddy Cisco, Abigail Glasspool, Joelle Blake, and Hannah Kane earned a third place finish in the 200 freestyle relay at 1:51.41. Cisco and Glasspool were joined on the fourth place 200 medley relay team by Lexi Ray and Sydney Sweger, who finished at 2:07.90.

Today's highest finisher was sophomore diver Ali Cowan, who beat out IUP and W&J opponents to take first place in the 1M dive with a score of 226.65.

Karl Gangloff had the highest finish of any Chatham swimmer today, taking second in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.74. Hannah Kane was the next highest finisher in third, which she accomplished with her 1:12.42 time in the 100 back.

Several Cougars had fourth place finishes in individual events. Sydney Sweger recorded two, first in the 100 brest (1:26.60) and then in the 50 free (29.38).

Abigail Glasspool and Joelle Blake were both fourth in the 100 and 200 freestyle, with times of 59.16 and 2:14.62 respectively.

Hunter Holcomb had success in the 50 free, finishing at 27.29 for fourth.

The Cougars' next contest is at home against Westminster on Friday, November 11th at 6 PM.
