Swimming Honors Fannie Sisters on Senior Day

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – January 15, 2021 – The Chatham University swimming teams returned to the pool after a near two-month hiatus, honoring their two seniors Charity Fannie and Faith Fannie prior to the meet. The Cougars were swept by the Saint Vincent Bearcats, 184-89 for the women and 150-60 for the men.
 
For the women, first-year Maddy Cisco claimed the 200-yard backstroke in style, winning the event with a 2:20.58 final time. Classmate Amy Jarvis squeaked out a narrow victory in the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:55.50 final time. Classmate Ali Cowan had 214.60 points in the 1-meter diving event and 207.95 points in the 3-meter diving portion.
 
For the men, sophomore Karl Gangloff continued his dominant ways with a convincing 1650-yard freestyle victory at 17:48.02, over one minute and 10 seconds ahead of second place. Ganlogg also won the 100-yard freestyle with a 52.09 final time and the 500-yard freestyle at 5:12.03.
 
Up next for the Cougars is a road meet at Bethany College, the final PAC events of the season. The men will face off with the Bison while the women will partake in a tri-meet with the hosts and Franciscan, all beginning at 1:00.
