WASHINGTON, PA - November 9, 2019 - The Chatham University men's and women's swimming and diving team traveled to Washington and Jefferson College to take on the Presidents this past Saturday. Chatham's women came out on top, beating the Presidents by a score of 157-68. On the men's side, first-year
Nathan Kerchensky raked in 22 total points.
Chatham swam to a season-high 11 first-place finishes. Junior
Mallory Marzolf took first in the 200 freestyle (2:00.25) 200 backstroke (2:13.60). First-year
Carlee Shreve won both the 200 butterfly and the 500 freestyle with times of 2:33.20 and 5:46.47 respectively.
Rachel Boyea placed first in the 200 breaststroke at 3:04.31 and
Faith Fannie came in first with a time of 5:13.02 in the 400 individual medley.Â
Nathan Kerchensky earned two first-place finishes, coming in with a time of 1:57.03 in the 200 freestyle and 5:27.06 in the 500 freestyle.
First-year
Chelsea Hagan performed a 9.00 1-meter dive for the win.Â
Chatham also had a successful relay showing. The team of
Mallory Marzolf,
Molly Hunter,
Noelle Dagdagan, and
Carlee Shreve swam to a first-place finish with a time of 2:04.70 in the 200 medley. In the 400 freestyle,
Mallory Marzolf,
Charity Fannie,
Rachel Boyea, and
Carlee Shreve took first with a time of 4:02.42.
The Cougars hit the pool once again on Friday, November 15th at Wesminster.Â
