Chatham Basketball To Commemorate 145 Years of Tradition

Pittsburgh, PA - (2/9/15) - On Saturday, February 14 the Chatham University Women's Basketball team hosts Geneva College in a President's Athletic Conference matchup in the Athletic and Fitness Center at the Chatham University Shadyside Campus. Join us prior to the game to help us celebrate 145 years of Chatham history, and for the 1:30 pm game to cheer on the Cougars.

Before the game, Chatham's senior basketball players Kayla Saylor (Pittsburgh, PA/Northgate High School), Becky Rowe (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk High School), and Emily Schmidt (Eighty Four, PA/Ringgold High School) will be honored, and the 145th anniversary of the opening of Chatham University will be celebrated. The festivities start with the first 145 fans to arrive at the game receiving a free commemorative t-shirt, and move on to honoring the senior players. During the halftime of the game, a dance team from the Propel Charter Schools will be featured in a halftime show. Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the President's Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers eight Division III women's sports and six men's sports. The athletic program is housed on Chatham's historic and beautiful Shadyside Campus in the $18 million, 74,000 square foot Athletic and Fitness Center (AFC). Chatham Cougar athletes excel on the field and in the classroom, as illustrated by recent accomplishments such as the women's basketball team's second-highest team GPA across all Division III athletic programs in 2014, and the swimming & diving squad's GPA ranking in the top 50.
